Too Darn Hot

I know... rebelling all over the place, waiting to post until this morning, but it's too BLOODY, FREAKING HOT!

To get you in the mood, maybe you should listen here

So instead of WRITING a blog, I thought I'd amuse you with some things I ran across instead...

Twilight Bashers, this is the funniest review EVER and I think many of you will suspect, as I did, that this blogger was channeling me when this was written...

And then there is this, shared with me by my friend Cher Bear:
"Harry Potter is about confronting fears, finding inner strength and doing what is right in the face of adversity. Twilight is about how important it is to have a boyfriend."--Stephen King  (took some tracking down to verify but this attribution is on Goodreads, so I trust it)
And THAT is a nice segue to THIS: Some info on finding the keys to Pottermore

And then there were a couple really useful links (one writing, one eating)...

Rachelle Gardener had a How To on writing an Elevator Pitch

And Sue had a couple really intriguing posts about SUGAR and biology (and why sugar is best avoided and how difficult that can be in processed food) (the 4th and 5th posts down, I think)

And these points of really great news!

Lynn Rush got a 3 book deal

Stacy Gail got famous by having her name in print (promoting the newly very hot Sci-Fi romance genre)

And finally, I've seen a few progress summaries of late and thought I'd add mine to the mix.

January/February edits of Kahlotus/Legacy and Azalea Assault: Check
Feb-March WRITING of Begonia Bribe: Done, but it took me to May
April editing of [?]: Missed this one completely
May first edit of BB: This one too.
June BuNoWriMo: Check (completed 55K: What Ales Me)
July edit of BB: Done with hard copy edit. Two research intensive scenes to write. Also starting out loud finer point edit. (note: when oral fine point edit done and peers have, I have also begun tinkering with Kahlotus)

Note ONE thing that slows you up can knock you off a couple, but I got back on track, so I feel pretty good there. The longer time it took to write BB knocked off two months scheduled for edits, but I'm making pretty good progress. And that's all I got cuz I'm too darn hot!

it isn't that hot here but will be when I get to town. I need a little air conditioner in my office - they are building on both sides of our small downtown street and the NOISE is crazy so I can't open my windows. argggggggh.
thanks for the update - I'll sweat over it later and wonder why I'm so far behind.

That Robin Browne quote is incorrect. It was Stephen King.

It's to be 102 today - yuck! And I have to drive to a seminar in this heat. Double yuck.

Naked helps, but still not adequate!

Jan-I hear you on the noise thing--I got to work with a blasting fire alarm, but came inside anyway to get out of the heat...

Beer-You know, I saw the same correction in the opposite direction yesterday--needs some investigating...

Diane-yuck! We are only 100.

Wish we'd that problem, it's grey skied, windy, rainy and cold!

Hart, your blogging ability blows me away.

and who doesn't like naked blowing?

I know what you mean! It's only supposed to 91 degrees today, compared to the 105 yesterday. Iowa is rarely this hot. I'm ready for cooler days.

It's unbelievable how hot it is. That dog with the fan has the right idea though. haha

Today's supposed to be our last day of the extreme heat - and only about 94 compared to 100 yesterday (felt like 106).

I have to say that I enjoyed the Twilight books. They're a totally different type of book from HP and I don't understand why anyone would try to compare them. My 2 cents, anyway (and yes, I do write YA romance).

Christine-how about I send you 10 degrees...

Sarah-thank you!

Gae-Yes! Naked blowing all around! teehee

Krista-we get our drop tomorrow--100 to 94 *rolls eyes* Our record EVER is 104.

TS-though by the laws of entropy, that fan is only making it hotter *shifty*

Erica-yeah, we've got a 'feels like 115' note. And I DO know a fair few people who liked Twilight, to be fair--people who enjoy romance... which I am honestly very picky on, but my main problem is Bella's lack of personality.

Please send some heat over to London! It's like freakin' winter here!

PS - LOVE the title!

Man, that's was an educational post! I feel like I can crawl back into my editing cave well-informed.

It's hot in Hotatlanta, but after growing up in temps that exceeded 100 for months at a time, in a house without a/c, it feels pretty mild.

IT IS TOO HOT! I've even set out for my power walks two hours earlier than I normally do with close to nothing on and I still sweated to death. I dripped all afternoon... NOT good. LOL

Loved the Twilight bashing post. Awesome.

And it's actually not THAT hot here. Like 85. Not bad compared to everywhere else I guess.
