Two things today... first...
I was the recipient of some LOVE yesterday, so I thought I'd show a little appreciation!
Authors Promoting Authors
Tina Sue and Brandi have a mission of promoting new authors and do a terrific job of Paying it Forward... helping people get going, especially people who feel a little lost in this vast world of self-promotion.
From the beginning, I've bought into their ideas and have offered to have guests, but I sort of figured that was just what I ought to do, as I believe in what THEY do. Well yesterday, out of the blue, they sent me an Amazon Gift Card just because they are FABULOUS! I'm so excited. I've been so broke that even though I have WANTED to, I haven't bought books in ages. I'm going to go look at prices, but I know I will be buying at least ONE book of one of my blog friends... depending on prices, I will try for two.
Doomsday Love
And then I decided yesterday to make sure I was FOLLOWING everyone who was participating in the Delusional Doom Blogfest and found several SIDEBARS in addition to just participants. So thank you to EVERYONE who is participating (it's not too late, here are details) and a big shout out of thanks to the following!
N.R. Williams, Fantasy Author
Rosie at East for Green Eyes
Michael at In Time
Angela at Whimsy, Writing and Reading
Tizzy at Impossible Dreams
Colene at The Journey
Francine at Romancing the Blog
Laura at A Shift in Dimensions
Roland at Writing in the Crosshairs
Pamela Jo at There's Just Life
Tessa at Tessa's Blurb
Ellie Garratt
And thank you ALSO for the mention in a blog, to
Trisha at WORD + STUFF
Helena at Becoming Layla
I'm humbled, as I am not nearly as good about spreading the word... I will be better now...

I would love love love it if you wanted to check out some of their blogs to help me thank them!!!
And second, Erinn at Something Else To Distract Me is holding the Gone but not Forgotten Blogfest where I get to share my favorite five shows that I wish they were still making episodes for... (this could change, but at the moment...
Alias: Loved the puzzle, the action... staring at Michael Vaughn...
Firefly: I hope Nathan gets his wish and Fox sells him the rights to this. He wants it to be available to all and says it's the most fun he's ever had. He'd totally make more... hopefully on that planet where he got abandoned with no clothes...
Homicide, Life on the Streets: Oh, MAN I loved this show. So edgy and harsh on the one side, and such personal stories on the other... the funky cinematography... just fabulous.
Veronica Mars: I love this show as an example of how to write... each episode self contained, but with an ongoing underlying story. Lots of very different compelling relationships...
X-files: Do I NEED to explain this? BEST. SHOW. EVER.
So I hope you all have a FABULOUS weekend! I am going under. I have requested edits from my editor and I want to concentrate on them without distractions, so I will be back Monday!

I try to love FRINGE just as much as I did THE X-FILES but it doesn't quite have the right mix. I do hope Nathan does get the rights for FIREFLY. It was a great show. I hated that they killed off all the people they did in the movie. May added money come your way someway, somehow, Roland
I did love the X-Files. Wish there was something like that on TV now.
Good luck with your edits!
Re: the advertisement on my blog, no worries - I can't wait for that blogfest! :D
And as for this, I love the shows of yours here that I know, and those I don't know so well I probably would like very well. May have to check them out at some point!
LOVE Firefly *drools*
Veronica Mars was magnificent. I hated how it ended though... I wanted more!
Roland, I've tried Fringe and LIKE it, but don't LOVE it. Supernatural is pretty good, but probably would only LIKE that, if I didn't love the added eye candy benefit.
Elizabeth-YOU should try Supernatural! teehee
Trisha-I think all these shows are on DVD--at least three of the series I got from the library--Firefly might be hard to find without buying, but the others you can.
Melissa-yeah, I think the end was revenge against the show getting axed... I think they had to change plans and were miffed...
I'm not acquainted with all of those but I have to say I LOVED Veronica Mars. X Files always creeped me out but I had a friend growing up who was addicted and had every episode on tape and would make me sit down and watch them in a marathon with her. LOL.
Veronica Mars is showing up on several lists today -- I've never seen it. Going to look for it in syndication!
Great list! And you're awesome to pay-it-forward on your blog. Have a great weekend!
WOW you've got a lot of blogfests going on today!
Xfiles, I heart you. My hubby has started watching it I forgot how awesome the show was/is.
Great List. Thanks for joining in on the fun!
Glomping while NAKED is even better!!
Yay for some bloglove and blogfesting!!!!
Take care
x
Firefly!!! Such a good show. Yay, for Amazon giftcards and it's always a good feeling when books arrive on the doorstep. It's one of my favorite things :) Have a great one this weekend!
JUST how I needed to start my day--with a pic of Nathan Filion's backside :)
Veronica Mars!!! Love her THIS MUCH.
X-Files!! Seen a few episodes and they're pretty mind-blowing. Kudos for putting it on your list!!
Nice picks!!
I've just finished season 1 of Alias and loving it hope.
Katie-totally giggling at your friend who forced X-files on you! teehee.
Nicole-you need to see it! It's a great mix!
Erinn-it's a fun blogfest! Thanks for having it!
Jenny-and YAY for Naked Blogfesting!
Erica-I know--I'm having trouble sorting what I want to order! So many books!
Amparo-I know, right? Oh, MAN, I love Nathan... And I love Naked... And Naked Nathan is FABULOUS!
Claire-oh, you're in for a treat! I loved the whole show!
Whedon rules!
I would love to see more Firefly movies. Small screen is too small now for them.
Veronica I only saw after it was off the air, but great show.
I have to bow down to The X-Files. Awesomesauce.
Alias- I can't stand Jennifer Garner so I will probably never watch this show.
Firefly- you got the best pic ever!!! God I love that show. I need to do a weekend marathon again. Good times.
Homicide- Never watched it but i would probably like it a lot. I love cop shows.
Veronica Mars- Yes yes and yes!
X-files- No, you don't need to explain. It was frawesome.
You're right! We do have similar tastes!
Gosh, I feel the glomps!
I should really make you a new blog award. One that goes something like this "Only Blogger in the Last Year that has Mentioned the Creator of APA by Name..." :P kind of feel like I've won something really amazing by being mentioned here.
It was our pleasure to award the Amazon Gift Card but it didn't quite come out of the blue, as we raffled it off to the person who posted/shared the Book Blitz the most, and according to Random.org, that's you! :o)
Thank-you so much for helping us Blitz the Book!
Glomps right back to you..
Firefly!! About time someone included this awesome show on her list.
And I did plug your fest last week, so hope you get a ton of participants.
Heather-most of what I see is tiny screen, but yeah, I'm sure they're better big!
Hannah-I think I might not like Jennifer Gardner much if this hadn't been my first real exposure of her, but she's well cast hee. The Homicide thing I ALSO loved... not all cases got solved, or some of them dragged on for ages. it felt more realistic to me--plus I LOVE Andre whatshisname.
Tina-Sue--HA! Well it was out of the blue to me and I loved it! I was happy to help out! I wonder if that generator is about where hits came from or mentions? Whatever the case, I'm thrilled!
Alex-I KNEW that would make your list, too! And I DID know you'd plugged me--thanks so much! I knew I'd miss some, as I just went to the links of participants and skimmed a few posts.
Alias and Veronica Mars, FTW! Thanks for the butt shot too, btw :D
That is officially my Most Favorite Firefly Picture. Excuse me, I need to go make a poster.... ;)
I approve of the use of the Nathan Fillion butt shot.
Oh, yeah, Firefly, and Nathan Fillion... *swoon* He also makes an amazing bad-guy toward the end of season 7 of Buffy, if/when you get there. Creepy, but still drool-worthy.
Congrats on the gift card. That was so nice of them! You really are great at helping to promo other people's work and blogs, and you definitely deserve it.
Happy Friday!
Veronica Mars is on Instant watch! I just added it to my queue today and thought of you! Thanks for the SWEET shout out!!
I hope you have a great time picking out books to read!!
I saw X-Files (not a lot, but some) when it was on, but have never seen any of the rest. Then again, for the past 10 years, my TV's been stuck on Nickelodeon...
erica
Wish I had time to check out the Gone but Not Forgotten blogfest. It looks awesome. But this weekend it's all novel, all the time. Yep, I'm going under too. See you on the flip side.
Have a brilliant word-worthy weekend!
I totally agree with you about Veronica Mars. The characters and their relationships make the show. And I've always been meaning to watch Firefly, but your photo just made it top my list of stuff to watch lol
Hi, Hart,
Great pics.... I'm so glad you've got a gift card...
Did you get my email? NO MORE FIZZY WHIZEES at WW. The manufacturer is even out.
I will check back before returning north. I tried.
SO looking forward to your blogfest.... too fun.
Michael
Yay for your Amazon gift card! That's awesome.
I wish Seinfeld was still on the air. I never got enough Soup Nazi and yada, yada, yada.
Thank you for that pic of Nathan Fillion. I didn't watch Firefly, but I have a bit more motivation now. :) And VM all the way!
Marie
Me too, I loved to stare at Vaughn.
Have a great weekend.
Thanks for the hug!
<3 Gina Blechman
I loves me some Vaughn!! And I guess I need to check out Firefly -- very persuasive argument! ;)
Some interesting tv shows that are no longer on. I have not heard of some of them but am hearing more about them now.
