Friends I Haven't Met

It's Thankful Thursday, my friends! And today I am expressing thanks for the FABULOUS friends I've made online that I have and have NOT managed to meet yet, but with whom I bonded before ever seeing each other face to face.

In fact the earliest of these, I wasn't even comfortable using my NAME. I was rather paranoid in 2005 when I first ventured into interactive (as opposed to just information seeking) forums. Oh, it has been sweet, and some of these bonds have been true familial type bonds. I've got the Lady Marauders (and the early seeds of the Naked World Domination Tour), the Roadtrip Sisterhood, the whole High Wizard Court, my fellow Burrowers, my encouraging fan fic readers, the writers I've met through Facebook and Blogging... I've made some amazing and fabulous friends and I just wanted to express my GRATITUDE!

So to thank all of YOU, I wanted to share a few things that people have shared with ME...

From Snehal—college student in India who I made friends with through the fan fiction stuff... THIS is HYSTERICAL. http://agrammar.tumblr.com/post/1127991128/offended-by-rank-objectification-of-writers.

Or there was this note from Rayna, my Thursday Twin:
Perhaps you should look at making Kali your patron Goddess-
Kali: "Just as all colors disappear in black, so all names and forms disappear in her. Her nudity is primeval, fundamental, and transparent like Nature — the earth, sea, and sky. Kali is free from the illusory covering, for she is beyond all Maya. Kali's garland of 50 human heads that stands for the fifty letters in the Sanskrit alphabet, symbolizes infinite knowledge." [Tart note: See—through nudity, knowledge!]

And Joris makes me true FABULOUSNESS with regularity... this being one of my early favorites.... Though Joris has also made me book covers and a variety of other things to entertain me...

And Marissa, another artist friend... I've SHARED my image of 'me' (Dominatrix Llama in a wine glass) (the duck is a Wizard War Joke)

There are FAR too many of these friends to go through all of them... and they include all of you... so THANK YOU for being fabulous!

SPEAKING of Fabulous.... Heads up! And by heads up, I mean BEER HEADS... My friend the Beer Wench opened her Microbrewery and Saturday is the Grand Opening for Wolverine Brewery Tap Room in Ann Arbor. I am going to do a FEATURE on Saturday—watch for it—but in the meantime, if you want to check it out, she'd love it!

Apropos of nothing, here's a pic of Jason Isaacs in actual drag. The unfortunate thing is that you have to watch "Sweet November" to get the full effect. But he has beautiful hands, so it might be worth it. http://www.moviepro.net/images/movies/40377_still_2_66776.jpg

I don't think my tea has kicked in yet.

Love you back, JelE!

Heather--I actually have an avatar that uses a bunch of clips from that, but he's missing the long blond Lucius wig!

Jenny-I've met some dozen or so, actually, but yes... when i own my own island I am having a BIG party and ALL OF YOU are invited!

I love this one.
Writers will write about you. You don’t want this. Trust me.
I like to threaten people that if they don't stop messing with me or my family I'm going to torture them in my next book. :)

when you own your own island - that is AFTER the world is dominated & we're all llama-heads - I shall be deee-lighted to join the party... those of us who know & love you (naked and virtually) do so because of your unabashed domination...and a few other thingies...

aside to the other folks - have you noticed that not only is she continuing with her DAILY blog here but she's already past the half-way mark on NaNo. Nobody can even compete - that's role model-par-excellence imho

Some really cool people online!
Good luck to your friend! Looking forward to the beer feature. I'm sure nudity will be involved at some point.

Online friends are awesome. I love the Dominatrix Llama in the Wine Glass. Complete with pink feather boa. I'm assuming they are not dyed duck feathers :)

Hah! I was going to blog about starting off so paranoid online and throwing off the constraints and just loving these connections (who am I kidding? I'll still write about it...)

Anyway, I love your unabashed enthusiasm for your mates (and their superlative talents -- I mean, the Malfoy pic? Come on!!)

CaH-I would LOVE to get to Norway one day, and I will certainly give a shout if I do! Not sure if you'll ever have reason to get to Michigan, but you do the same if you do!

Helena--YAY for toasts! (and for toast, if it's got good stuff on it)

Oh Snehal (a she) just shared the link--but it is a GREAT one!

BABBS! I'm glad you made your way here! And I will SURELY get to NYC one of these days. The first time I get an advance impressive enough to do a REAL book tour, I am headed that way!

I have met some of my online friends and it has been wonderful. But I have a long list of people I still must meet. This medium has been an amazing way to connect.

I'm way behind with my blog reading so apologies for the late comment. Just wanted to say that you definitely add a special something to the blogging world yourself, so thank you for sharing your naked self with us! And I'm loving that llama pic. The wine glass...shades of Dita Von Teese, no?
