Naked Solstice Rules

First off, Happy Summer Solstice!
Second off, Happy Naked Thursday!

Now you KNOW a solstice is properly celebrated dancing naked in the moonlight, right (better yet, skinny dipping)? And you KNOW Thursday was the FIRST day to commit to nudity, and so has a special place in the nudist heart, yes?

So what happens when solstice falls on a Thursday?

We commit to a full-on naked SUMMER!!!

This is the Fremont Solstice Parade--they have the idea

Now those of you who don't know me well, might think this naked obsession of mine is all about sex. It's not. Don't get me wrong, I like sex as much as the next person (probably more than many). But it is about letting your skin be kissed by air and sun and water. About the feel of a summer rainstorm making you more slippery than you've ever been. About being free of itching, binding, unflattering clothing (and free of tan lines).

All together now!

It's also about being ALL YOU. Not very easy to pretend you are somebody else when you are standing there in your very own birthday suit.

It is ALSO very difficult to be MEAN when you are naked because no amount of posturing is going to fool anybody as to the size of your... well, you see what I mean...

And never let them tell you you are bucking tradition...

So embrace it! Let today be the day you embrace Nakedness! Commit for the summer and you will be a convert for life!

What do YOU plan to do naked this summer?

Have you ever visited a nudist colony? That would be weird... hehe

As kids, my brother and I were constantly without clothes. It just seemed normal back then. Nowadays it's totally taboo, and I find that sad! And nobody can say it's 'cause there are more pervs around nowadays. I think there were the same amount back then, we just weren't so aware of it.

I usually swim naked if I can do it without freaking out the kids. Like if my SP go off somewhere in the canoe - and tie up to some island, I'll go in the water naked. When you have step-kids you really can't stroll around the house naked but I will do that when they're at their mother's. The dog will let me know if someone is about. I like to be naked too and I agree - it is too hard to be a big phoney when you are unclothed.

Every time I see naked people on bikes, the ONLY thing I can think of is - EEWWW - those seats must stink!
Sorry, that's where my mind goes.
Me? Naked? Always when I sleep. In public? Not going to happen.

Growing up in Sweden in the 70s naked is the name of the game. Kids didn't have bathing suits until age 8 or 9. (When we first moved to the US in 1974, we had invited some kids over and when they hadn't brought their suits they really freaked out when we said that we weren't going to be wearing any. I do think they've since recovered.)
I love swimming naked. (See skinny dipping stories at Life is Good) I sleep mostly naked (tiny tank top keeps certain body parts from slamming around too much as I roll over) and I believe in nakedness metaphorically, as in this is who I am, all the time, take it or leave it. For example. Church friend is stopping by some time in the afternoon. Friend who happens to be over for the afternoon wine time (a daily ritual) gets nervous and wants to put away bottle and glasses. Um, NO! This is me. I drink wine. Want some? No? OK. Yes? OK. I'm through playing different parts. See Worlds Colliding post. OK, sounds like I'm just plugging my own posts. But it was the Tart who asked...and they explain...

I have always wanted to try skinny dipping... but sadly, the only pool I have access to is my apartment complex's public pool, and they'd probably ban me for life for flashing the kiddies. Their parents seem scandalized enough by my cleavage-tastic swimsuit!

Your post is totally making me miss Japan, though. If you haven't been to a Japanese hot springs resort already, you'd probably love it. I was self-conscious at first, especially since everyone was skinnier than me, but it's so fun and relaxing! And the minerals in the water are supposed to be really great for your health, too.

I remember taking my husband to his very first naked hot springs experience. There was a fun group there when we visited, and as we got dressed and were walking back to the car, it was only then that the clothing and car choices became definitive. Just plain naked, you can't really tell. Great post, and I'll work on getting around to your guest appearances, Ms. Hart!

I must say, there's something great about being naked. But it's impossible here, because I'm a closet nudist and there are too many people in my house who don't understand the concept of knocking. :-P
