Lemur, Llama, Lauras

Say that ten times fast.

Lemurs

I like to move-it move-it! Lemurs have such expressive faces, and such quirky behaviors, that it is nearly impossible not to love them. I remember once at the Portland zoo when the man was in feeding them, there was a lemur above him that kept taking his hat. Finally he handed the lemur some oranges and the little fellow went off to eat. So who is the trainer THERE, eh?

I also love how they huddle. It cracks me up.

Llamas

If you are new around here, you may think I am doing two animals, but you would be mistaken. This middle section is for things elevated to amusements... you see. I have a llama fetish. I ADORE llamas. It all began in the opening credits of Monty Python and the Holy Grail... for llamas to make such a fabulous movie... erm.

Seriously, though, when all else fails, I have two fall-backs... nakedness and llamas. So much so, that my friend Rissa made me a self portrait...

Me and my boy toy... by Rissa

And then there is this...

You get the idea...

Lauras

I have a couple blogger buddies named Laura and they have written BOOKS!!!

Laura Eno  has a collection of them, mostly Sci Fi. WISH is the one that got me really excited—genies, or rather djinn, living among us... but be careful what you wish for, eh?

Here is the blurb: Most residents of Pine Hill shy away from seventeen-year-old Lelah without knowing why. It’s the Djinn magic surging through her blood. She lives in a world where wishes are really curses, dark power meant to twist and deceive in unimaginable ways.
When a fit of temper exposes Lelah for what she really is, she must flee to a sanctuary only whispered about, before her family is exposed and enslaved by their ancient enemy. What she discovers is a treacherous path filled with power, lies, and betrayal – a path that’s destined to ensnare her and destroy a civilization.

Laura Howard has her first release coming out next month and is feeling particularly angsty, but it will be fabulous!

Here is the blurb: Allison O'Malley's plan is to go to grad school so she can get a good job and take care of her schizophrenic mother. She has carefully closed herself off from everything else, including a relationship with Ethan, who she's been in love with for as long as she can remember.

What is definitely not part of the plan is the return of her long-lost father, who claims he can bring Allison's mother back from the dark place her mind has gone. Allison doesn't trust her father, so why would she believe his stories about a long forgotten Irish people, the Tuatha de Danaan? But truths have a way of revealing themselves. Secrets will eventually surface. And Allison must learn to set aside her plan and work with her father if there is even a small chance it could restore her mother's sanity.

Wish - excellent choice!
Llamas does not surprise me. Would llamas huddling together crack you up? What if they huddled with lemurs? Not that it's remotely possible that would happen in the wild...

I am really impressed at the variety of A-Z's you are coming up with. Both books sound intriguing-I'll check them out.

Llamas and Lemurs- not much better than that! I really enjoyed it.

I've read "Wish, The Awakening"- fun book! :) I need to read more from her!

"The Forgotten Ones" sounds really good too!

Llamas are groovy, but I think lemurs may just be more hilarious to look at.

Two great Laura books there!
