W is for Wattpad

So I know a few of you use this. And I get the impression one of the things you do is share some of what you are writing? And this idea stresses me out... I somehow can't get myself to share any until I have edited ALL...

That said, this is the full extent of what I know about Wattpad... So I am asking YOU!

Do you post writing on Wattpad?

From in progress stories or only done stories?

Has it built readership for you?

Has it helped sell books?

How does one go about getting involved?

I didn't see much benefit in readership. BuT there are people with crazy number of followers. The focus is purely writing and they have some lovely weekly contests.

I learned something today reading this post, I had not heard about wattpad. So I have no advice to give you. I have some books published with a traditional publisher, and I see you ask whether it helps sell books. I guess I may take a look.

I've heard about it, but truthfully, unless I hear roaring and cheering things about it and how it helps sell books, I'm not going to check it out just yet.

I've heard about it but really don't know nothin' about it. I've been pretty useless for you this entire alphabet series, haven't I? And I'm so sorry about that.

But I do love the picture of the wombat.

My daughter Jess uses Wattpad. She's put on new/in progress stuff as well as edited manuscripts. She has a decent number of followers, but I don't know how that will translate into books sold. So far I don't think it has bumped the numbers much, but maybe when her second book comes out those followers will buy it.

There is a forum though where you can help people edit their manuscripts and you can charge for it too, so maybe that's a good way to at least make connections.
