Chaotic Collection

Comrades, I've got a collection of [erm... C word here- *cough*] I'd use 'cosas' but it seems to me, switching to Spanish might be cheating... Ah well...

Colors

The Burrow's October feature is related to COLORS and we are releasing a new drabble each day this month—check it out... http://www.the-burrow.org/ Speaking of colors and the Burrow... I've a colorific observation... among my childhood friends, it seems blue and green were the predominant favorite colors. I was unique with my PURPLE. But among the Burrow, we had to thumb wrestle for colors... I didn't get purple. Possibly because I can't behave... but I think more specifically because we ALL wanted it. Is this a WRITER color? Or are we Burrowers a unique batch?

Comments:

I had my first serious troll this week! I was SHOCKED! More shocking still, it was on one of my old blogs where I grumbled about parenting a teen and the blog itself was relatively mild (oh, sure I said she was a changeling, but SHEESH!), so the COMMENTER clearly has ISSUES...damn anonymous comments.... I won't remove them though (the ability to anonymous comment,... the comment itself, I DID remove—it was offensive)—I can take a sting now and then, and I get notified on comments to old blogs—a chance to moderate before they get posted. I was just stunned... I mean... I may be naked, but I'm NICE—no reason to be rude to ME!

Contest New

So there is a very cool contest to enter... Mason Canyon is giving away a bizillion (okay 8) audio books, each contest is separate, so you can enter the ones you really want the audiobooks... go enter, NOW! http://masoncanyon.blogspot.com/2010/10/hear-ye-hear-ye.html

and speaking of contests, I recently WON two books in Spunk on a Stick's
http://circleoffriendsbooks.blogspot.com/ 300th Follower Contest! I am looking forward to reading them! (I love free books, and I love reading what my writer friends write... good stuff)

Cali the Cat

Species: Calius Insanus. She isn't cuddly, but she is very conversive, so that is something. I like her, except when it is 4 in the morning and she is poking me with her claws because she thinks I should get up to run the water for her (she likes to drink from the bathroom sink, at a slow trickle)

Now lets just survive Monday...

Awww, her face looks just like my Harleykins. (Harley was a tuxedo kitty with a mask like your poodins. Hence the Harlequina.) Can you tell I haven't had my tea yet?

Beautiful cat.

Wow on the comment. All I can say is people are stupid. Wait, I'm a people.... Ok some people are stupid.

Happy Monday.

I like orange and turqoise. I like all colours actually - not the 'u' in colour - that is how we Canadians spell it. Changing my preferences to English (Canadian) on word is one of my most enraged acts - I do it ALL day long as the computer asks me over and over again - 'oh, you want English (Canadian) as your preference - I don't think so and I know better than you because I'm a computer.' But I digress. Mainly I want to know what is a troll? Am I dopey - yes. But I don't know...Jan Morrison

Such a pretty cat!

Sorry about that commenter. I've disabled anonymous comments, too--mostly because it's a favorite of spammers.

Congrats on winning books!

Oh no you've been trolled!! What does that mean??! LOL!! I'm taking it means someone leaving a horrid unwarranted comment - boo to the trolls - they give trolls a bad name!!! :-(

Awwww yay for your book win!!! Wonderful!!

Oh there are many shades of purple so I hope you get to use one of them!!!!

And last but not leastly!!! CALI is ADORABLE!!!!! Oh she is - she's GORGEOUS!!! She's perfect!! :-)

Take care

Well, of COURSE your favorite color as a child was purple. Guess what mine was?

And I'm all for trying to survive Monday. Oy.

Deb said...

Damn right you're naked and nice. And I say, have the balls to put a name to your tacky mean comment. I am adding her to my "chunt" list. Cali is catalicious.

NH-my grandparents had a TOTAL tuxedo kitty when I was little--her name was Phaedra, and she didn't like me because as a kid, all I wanted to do was hold her...

Teresa--yes, BOO to stupid people!

Jan-Canadian I think gets the shaft, as you do some words in AE and some in BE... note that there is NOT a CE to choose... not fair. Heck, if time zones can note 'Arizona time' Microsoft ought to have a speller on Canadian English!

And Jenny got it--trolls are rude commenters who try to ruin your day...

Elizabeth, i've never had spam trouble, and this really was my first rude one (unless I've blocked something... I do that) but if it happens again...

Carol, thank you!

Jenny-you got it on the trolls! As for purple... I didn't get it for our feature, but I figure it is mine anyway *shifty*

*high fives Simon* OF COURSE yours was purple too!

Deb-Thank you! Yeah... I wish I knew who it WAS--it sounded like an overly sensitive late teen, actually (I've got some experience with those)

Ah comments.. I haven't been blogging long enough to experience the rude comments but I am sadly looking forward to it

Wow, someone would dare to incur the wraith of Tart???

My favorite color is black. What does that say about me as a writer?

I won an audiobook from Mason once. AWESOME! I love book giveaways! Now I want to go back and read that nasty comment. I've gotten a couple. I remove them because I don't want my blog to be a place where people are arguing back and forth in the name of "discussion." Sorry, I just don't want it. So yes, I do moderation on old posts as well.

I love that purple flower picture - beautiful. Red is more my style, but then, I'm not a writer, just a blogger. My mom's favorite color is purple, but I think that's because it's the color of her eyes - light lavender (she has albinism, not the pink eyes - unless it's in a picture, but IRL, her eyes are lavender - just beautiful!)

I'm so sorry you had an ugly anon commenter. That's rude. If I leave a comment - it's a positive one. It takes time and thought to write a blog, the least that commenters can do is be positive and helpful. (I disabled anon comments, because I have a crazy ex that reads my blog, along with his new wife and they left a couple of nasty comments - I just don't need that in my life.)

Love the picture of your cat! She's beautiful! I have a Siamese cat, Tigger, who requires fresh water whenever he wants to drink. Doesn't matter if it was poured in his bowl just 2 seconds ago - that was 2 seconds ago! and he wants fresh. Spoiled, that's what I say, but I guess that my fault. Lol.

I'm always dressed in black. This is what my little boy says: "Black is the color of dad and Satan". Scary, isn't it >:)))

SY-hopefully it will never happen!

Alex-well you DON'T seem to have a Darth Vader Complex, so I'm not sure...

Karen-yeah-any discussion I would allow would all be POLITE. I don't need people to agree, but there is no reason for rudeness.

Aleta-that is funny that your mom liked purple and you like red--my daughter likes red (and if she were to take up blogging, it would be photography based)--URGH on crazy exes! Well, I have a couple but they are mostly amicable and the good kind of crazy. The only ugly ending, has since had peace made. (Cali likes water so fresh it is still dripping, so I think that is common)

Holly-yes, cats can be pesky that way.

Raquel-yeah-I figure there isn't anything I can do about it. It stunned me at the time, but was so SMALL compared to my friend dying, and I'd just ALSO gotten comments from a couple of her friends that made me feel so GOOD.

CaH--Dad and Satan huh> BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I like the humor of your son...

Well, if there's a cat butt, I'm right at home.

I will never understand what drives people to leave ugly comments. I've been blogging since 1935 and I still can't figure it out. ;-D

My cat always wants me to flush the toilet for him. He wakes me up too early just because he can by WHINING and WHINING and WHINING...

And may that troll get permanently stuck under the bridge. (Isn't that where trolls hang out?)

I'm actually more of a brown/burnt orange kind of gal.

Needless to say, I always got my color of choice.

Congratulations on winning the books. Thanks so much for the mention about the audio giveaways. There are some great books there I'm looking forward to reviewing. Sorry about your comment. It seems like every time I take the word verification off I start getting spam.

BTW, love the kitty. Little One (in the photo) usually wakes me about 4 in the morning for a fresh can of cat food.

Hey Hart - Love the color purple. I don't know why. I don't really wear the color. My house doesn't have a spec of purple decorations, but I'm drawn to it. Don't know what that says about me. LOL Your kitty is adorable!! =D
