Holy CowNoWriMo

I'm not sure how this could possibly creep up on me. I've done it since 2009. But this year I am doing it DIFFERENTLY and creep upon me it did.

Probably I should explain that in these interim years I've come to believe I can't NOT participate in NaNoWriMo... I know some people don't get it, but to ME, the risk of heading off on some tangent is bigger than the problems of 'not editing as I go'. I end up with a BETTER WORK after a month of crazy-paced insanity than I do after SEVERAL months or the slower version.

Between my short attention span and my inability to say NO (to a plot tangent), it is just better to commit to the primary plot fast.

This year, though, is full-on different for me. I am going to write books 7-10 of my serial, about a quarter of which was written previously (but need to have PoV changed) so I am officially a rebel.

I really have approaching 75K to write, and I will only track new words... but I am a little stressed as to how this will go.

Anybody else playing NaNoWriMo?

Wow! You're going to be productive. No, I'm not doing NaNo. It doesn't work with my work schedule and Anna Li's high school swimming.

Have fun!

No. :( As usual, I'm halfway through a book. I know I could be a rebel, but I'm such a rule-follower...

I totally get what you mean about NOT doing NaNo. The one year I didn't do it, I missed it terribly!

I think I'm going to write a novella this year instead of a full out novel. But who knows what will happen? :)

Good luck!

You can do it, Hart! And I write better with the pressure of NaNo.

If you've done it for the past four years, can't quit now.

You know, I don't do Nano. Only because I tend to write about 10K a week anyway so it would only mean an extra 10K in a given month and then I think I'd be so exhausted I'd probably slip the next month so I think the net word result would the same.

You rebel! This is my first year trying out NaNo and it scares me.

I'm not playing, as usual, but as usual I'm in awe of you and other writers who can be so creative and disciplined and driven. Making your serial the object of NaNoWriMo is also really smart.

I'm planning out about 110,000 words for NaNo. LOL
