Rebel Roots! and Oreos

Okay, my Bloggilicious Friends... I am at Burrowers, Books & Balderdash today, talking about my rebel roots, so PLEASE come by and see me!!!

For HERE... just a status update I think... a little resolution accountability...

Revision for ABNA:  Nearly done with READ AND NOTES portion of review. Next up--getting the changes IN THERE (slated for 2 weeks) then a polish (1 week)... or that's the plan. It's WAY too fast, I know... Once all the pieces are in and it is somewhat smooth, I am only going to worry about those first 5000 words and the HOOK.

Fitness Plan:  I've eaten on points since Sunday! That makes today day 6. Scale is moving, but it won't be official until Sunday.  I've ALSO done my power walks (even with snow and 5am times). On the down side, I would give myself a C on stretching and strengthening. (it's too COLD to get on my floor!)

Blogging:  New plan is easier than the old plan, so not much to say, but I think I've leveled up on views... I have NO CLUE how this happens, but every once in a while the number of page views I can expect in a day jumps--it's happened. The only day under 400 views this week was Sunday, and I didn't post a blog (and that was still over 300). So that's cool, even if I don't get it. Followers are creeping up, sure, but this jump happened faster than that.  I ALSO have 134 flags now!  What, is that 60% of the world that is now NAKED?

But the BIGGEST Blog Confusion has to do with Oreos.  When I look at my stats, the number one search term that brings people here is Oreos.  Now... I hope nobody takes this wrong, but I don't permit Oreos in my house (or any Nabisco product... Kraft either)--it is my small protest against big tobacco. So I am POSITIVE this is the first blog I've ever mentioned Oreos on. If ANYBODY can give me a clue why that term would be most likely to lead people HERE, please tell me!

This just in!  HA!  Mystery May Be Solved

My Sister Tart got a Pingback yesterday, and it linked to MY content on another feed--I will update you tomorrow! Erm... this would be the hit-count jump mystery, not the Oreo mystery... that one is still open...

Oh, that's funny. I guess my hubby's been searching for Oreo's, again. He's addicted. :)
That's fascinating. Okay, I'm gonna run a test on this. I'll post the word Oreo in some form on my blog next week, and add a tab. See if you catch it anywhere. :) I'll let you know how it affects it. LOL

I still don't know why Oreos need to exist. Most overated biscuit ever. Surely a world with Tim Tams and Mint Slice doesn't need Oreos.

Oh, right, yes it does. Oreos need to keep the Americans occupied and stop them from stealing our biscuits... ;)

I prefer rebels before biscuits, so jumping over >:D

Maybe they think you're sweet like an Oreo? Yeah, I'm laughing at that one, too.
And no idea what brings people to my page.

Jan Morrison said...

oh come on, Tartlette, it is world nudity that is bringing them on. Who cares about naked cookies? Other than that weird head-case, the Pillsbury Dough Boy - what's the what with that?

Hart Johnson said...

Ciara-the weird thing is, I've made no mention!

BrioNI-Yes, TimTams win... though I don't dislike the TASTE of an Oreo actually, just the company--we periodically buy the same kind of cookie from HiHo--(double stuff) but Tim Tams are definitely better (just very spendy here--now that I can THANKFULLY finally get them at all)

Aw--thanks, Alex! I keep thinking I need to figure out a system... sounds like the ping thing might be it...

Jan-cookies are perhaps the only thing I don't want naked. I like them FROSTED! (those little elves with their fudge stripes are good) But yeah, dough boy is a strange one! I do get hits for naked stuff... at least that one I get (and my Pantsless post is my #2)

What a mystery!!! People are looking up oreos?!!? Naked oreos maybe!?!?

Moving on swiftly!! Yay for your revisions and fitness plan going well!! Good for you! Take care

Just out of curiosity Tim-Tam, how much does a pack set you back in the States?

And I wonder if there's a whole group of people out there who are wanting to "twist it, lick it, dunk it" nekkid?

Wonder how many more directions when searching for Oreos is going to happen after this post and comments?

i always get weird search reasons to send people to my blog. Writing cursive - i mean, when did i ever talk about that? Never as far as i'm aware

VR Barkowski said...

Ha! Count yourself lucky, Tarty. The #1 search phrase that brings folks to my blog? "Hotties on Potties" - go figure.

Hart Johnson said...

Jenny-Maybe... Naked oreos are at least rebelling somewhat, so that's important...

BrioNI--YOU WIN! That HAS to be it! Twist it, lick it, dunk it--the foreplay of cookie eating! (does cookie mean something I don't know in Australia?)

Sarah-Cursive, eh? Maybe Yvie was talking about it when you weren't paying attention?

VR-Oh dear! That's too funny!

Ack! Your talk of Oreos threatens to sabotage one of my resolutions! <3

I have yet to figure out what drives people to my blog. Now you have me thinking I need to do a post about Oreos.

Feels like I'm on the same ambitious road to revision as you are -- I feel your pain and joys!

Thanks for giving me the link to Kassy's blog! I LOVE it and them.

Happy ping! B

Hey Hart - So you are doing great on your quest for the ABNA! I need to suck it up. *minutes pass* There, it's done.

Anyway, I understand about the whole big tobacco issue. I do. The problem is, I L.O.V.E Oreos. I wished I didn't. To make matters worse, they've gone and created an orea with one side vanilla cookie and the other side, chocolate. Damn them, Hart. There's no escaping. =D

Hart Johnson said...

Dawn-yeah, sorry about that...

Jane-some people know so much and I don't know if they are a lot smarter than me or spend more money (probably both)

Barbara-I thought you'd like them! Kassy has been a friend of mine since she was in high school (4 years?) and I adore her, but it looks like Sam is a ton of fun, too.

RaShelle-You've sucked it up and decided to do it!? --Yeah, vanilla would be even harder for me, as cookies go--I actually like the vanilla cookies with lemon creme between but I avoid them (I could eat them all)

That is so funny and strange. People get my blog all the time by searching for "strange muffler noise" and I have never written once about a muffler. I think Google does this occasionally simply because they want to mess with us.

Southpaw said...

It’s a mystery. It may become the great mystery of this blog. Hopefully clues or crumbs will show up.

Sue said...

You're kidding - right? Oreos?

I've had the muffler noise one too - perhaps the joke's on us. (*thinks: perhaps it'd be fun to write about that)

Melissa said...

Congrats for sticking to your new years resolutions!

Hart Johnson said...

Abe--teehee--So you're the strange noise blog, eh? I love the idea though, of Google periodically messing with us. I love geeks with a sense of humor.

Holly-Why can't I have a GOOD mystery? Like where is the hottie?

Sue--totally serious--when I look up my search terms, that is the top one. BAFFLING. I'm trying to think if there is any word I write a lot that has oreo IN it. Those muffler people are sneaksy!

Thank you, Melissa!

You're walking in Michigan at 5am?? I'm wearing a frozen smile in your honor. :)

About a month ago my 9-year-old made the startling confession that he had never tasted an oreo. So I broke down and bought a pack, but will never make it a habit.

Sounds like you're doing a great job on those resolutions! Keep it up.

Marjorie said...

Oreos are good, but I don't fancy the middle very much. I'd eat them all the time if it were just the cookie part. I don't recall you ever mentioning Oreos either.

Missed Periods said...

I have a theory. Maybe it has to do with the word "tart." I just Googled Oreo Tart and a bunch of listings came up.

Hart Johnson said...

Erica-yeah... just two days a week--the 'to work' is at 7 and the weekends are more like 11. I think my kids would have never had them, had they not had friends whose parents didn't have the same hang ups. My best friend actually buys them because she's not a chocolate fan, so it is a cookie her kids like, but she never overdoes... (so my kids had them young)

Lisa, thank you!

Marjorie--and see, I love the middle, but could skip the outside--I'm a sucker for double stuffs (other than the evil maker, I mean)

MP-OH! That might be! I didn't come up, did I?

My research came up flat but it did help reunite me with a blog I had lost and i would love you to read her too http://nothingbutbonfires.com

It's me again Hart, I couldn't resist the temptation to write about "muffler noise" thanks to Cheeseboy for the reminder too. I've credited you with the inspiration, and I had so much fun :) thanks
