In a Funk

So I had a theme for yesterday.... one for today. One for tomorrow... but I am having trouble doing the things I need to. In fact since August began, I've only written about 8000 words. That wouldn't be horrible, but I have a book I'm meant to have completed... I only have 4 scenes left, but I feel like I am pulling teeth trying to get them out there.

You want to know how bad it REALLY is? On Saturday I got up at 11:00 puttered a bit, then took a nap from 12-2. I spent a little time online, and that was 2000 of my 8000 I've written... but man... not such a productive day.

Sunday it was so bad I spent several hours cleaning out shelves and putting up a new set... CLEANING! This is NOT me.

So there is no blog today... just a few amusing pictures...

"Oooh, that's cold!"

(or wine)

Are these the cutest little buddies ever, or what?

And finally... you new tool for insulting intelligently...

Hopefully I will be a real person again soon...

Happy Monday!

Funny photos! Like the Sam and Ralph one.
You're just off your groove, and with good reason. Don't panic.

I KNEW you were feeling this way. Vibes! You had a few hits of late, personally and writerly. You'll get "you" back, but it will take time. We can't have injury and not feel it.

Keep writing.

Hugs to you! I'm hoping everything will look up for your soon--it just takes a little time.

Love the Shakespearean insults. :)

Don't sweat the break. Personally, I write best when I'm irrationally passionate about the story I'm telling. If that feeling isn't there, I don't even open the file. Give yourself a couple of days, and the itch will come back. Always does.

I'm sorry you're struggling. Mindless cleaning might mean you just need to shut your brain off for a while.

Kitty-the site I got it from said a roo, though I have no clue how different they look as babies. Good call on the wombat--not everybody recognizes them!

Alex-nice flashback from childhood, eh?

Teresa-yeah, why do these things always happen all at once? NO FAIR!

Elizabeth, thank you! (and those ARE funny, aren't they?)

Demion-see, I normally am a pretty darned good plodder... I keep going no matter what. That's why this is so strange.

Diane-that could very well be. Wish I didn't have to do the day job either...

Awww. Those are cute pics.

As for your writing--your mind is in overdrive and in other places. That's okay. Let yourself putter. You're going to need processing time sweetie. Even when we don't admit it, our minds know it and WILL take that time.

Hugs!

I can understand. You've been dealing with some heavy stuff of late and I guess the weather is still hot where you are.

It's been a scorcher here of late and I've been taking overly long naps. Been in a bit of a funk myself at times. Moods come and go. You'll be fine.

No worries, you'll be in the mix in no time. The Llama pic makes me crack up.

So, you're a little off your game. You're dealing with some big issues and it's normal, chica.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You'll get your balance back. In the meantime, give yourself permission to feel what you are feeling.

Much love,
Cherylyn

I've had sleepy days like that -- it's a sign of being worn out. So go easy on yourself.

Cleaning the house is so overrated. You should see my place when I'm writing. Then again, nobody should see it.

Hi, Hart,
I kinda know how that goes. I've had something I should have finished ages ago and can't seem to get the last couple of chapters written.

That insult kit has some pretty interesting words in it.

Hope your inspiration and zest come ball in full force soonest.

Hey, 8,000 words for August is way ahead of my schedule. I wrote like 2 paragraphs. But at least I was writing! LOL Loved your photos. Especially the last one...awww!
