Naked Recreation Week

So it’s almost over, but you still have time!

I really fell down on the job not giving you a heads-up before now. I seem to have had a busy week.  I’ve been writing quite a bit—passed 80K on my WiP last night. And while I think the book has some fat at the moment, I’m generally happy with what I’ve got.  And then I’ve been recovering from the blog tour…

But because the whole idea of a Naked Recreation Week appeals to me so much, I am doing a ‘better late than never’ post on the topic… some pointers… recommendations… warnings…

First:  What I would NOT Do. (don’t worry… it’s a short list)

To avoid injury and maximize comfort, I’d avoid activities with sharp pointy implements. Fencing, jousting, Hunting the beast of caerbannog…

Rock climbing is infused with naked dangers, from sharp rocks to rattle snakes… At the VERY least, wear a safety harness so your naked self doesn’t spatter when you fall…

Activities to Use CAUTION for:

While cooking naked is a FABULOUS activity, bacon spatter hurts… so wear an apron for that part…

Bouncing can be uncomfortable, so remember to bend at the knees to absorb some of the impact and probably for running or hiking, it is a good idea to wear proper shoes and socks.

Things I definitely recommend:

That hiking thing…
PICNICKING!!!

And best of all, any water sport.

To Maximize Enjoyment

Nudists should always carry a towel—not all surfaces are comfortable to sit on (or clean enough).
Avoid uptight people. They are annoying.
HAVE FUN!

You're welcome...

Water sports are perfect of course, and naked writing can be fun too. Naked skiing, not good >:)

We're going to a swimming hole this afternoon. Maybe I should see if I can convince the kids to go nudie booty ;)

Do you guys have rattlesnakes in your area? You're in MI right?

Oh, to be as uninhibited as nudists. Makes me remember I need to exercise a LOT more! Have a great weekend.

Alex-can be. That's true...

CaH-especially if you fall! Man, an ice slide naked would really suck!

RaShelle-It's sort of how I roll...

Johanna-Good idea! Start em early!

Sarah-there are actually no mountains in Michigan, so it's not really a rock climbing place anyway, but yeah, I think there technically ARE rattlesnakes.

JL-Oh, a person worried about how they look is probably NEVER gunna get comfy naked... It's more attitude than exercise, I think...

Hehe! Yes, staying away from sharp objects, bouncing, and cooking with things that splatter should definitely be avoided in those situations.

And not that I'd know - but having vast amounts of vaseline helps too. Ahem!!

Take care

I'm so glad fencing made your do-not-do-this-naked list. We sword people always pad ourselves up in sweaty togs before we go at each other with sharp pointy weapons.

I'm a clutz - naked and rock climbing just wouldn't mix.

I love being nude. But now that I'm a step-ma I restrain myself. I never did when I was bringing up my own boys but hey!

I wanted to stop by all my fave places and tell you that I’m sorry I haven’t been by much (or commenting). I’ve been on a tremendous writing jag – the likes of that I haven’t experienced since the year I left university (sixteen years ago – I was a late scholar). I have written 65 thousand so far since the beginning of June on a new book (as you know Tartlette) and fifty new poems (facebook every day with a photo). It is all great fun but it eats up all my time as I’m also working and trying to sell our house. I thought I’d take some time today and just tell you that I totally appreciate both your blog and your comments on mine and I will be back in full force soon! I have a mystery to revise and one to finish but I think I just revised too long and now I’m writing freeeeeee...and naked. not. too hot.

Best naked bathing scene ever: A Room with A View. If you haven't seen the movie, you must, it's a classic and oh so quotable, and a sweet story, and the placards introducing the scenes are HILARIOUS and then you get Simon Cowell, Julian Sands, Rupert Graves, and Denholm Elliot frolicking naked. AND getting caught. By ladies in white dresses and sunshade umbrellas it's just so stinkin' funny. Oh, and if that hasn't convinced you: full, frontal, male nudity. A rare thing these days. Talk about bounce...

This is my summer for nude recreation. I found a Campground not too far away that allows nudity. So on my days off from work and when I do not have tons of household chores to do, I head for the campground, shed the clothes and enjoy the day fishing, swimming and hiking all nude. I meet some interesting people because not all people at the campground are nudists. But all are accepting of our differing lifestyles.

The total freedom of being nude in nature feels so right. It is like being in the Fields of the Lord. It is like being exactly how I am supposed to be. How I was meant to be. How I was created to be.

Anyone who has not tried being nude before God and Everybody should give it a try at least once. Do it in a legal place. But do it and feel a freedom that you never dreamed could exist.
